On Friday 15th August, we officially relaunched our Long Eaton store. Joined by our colleagues, members, and special guest East Midlands Mayor, Claire Ward, we celebrated with a ribbon-cutting to mark this exciting new chapter.  

The relaunch followed weeks of hard work from our brilliant team, who transformed the store with fresh displays, improved shelving, and upgraded colleague spaces. Pulling it all together while keeping disruption to a minimum was no small task, so it felt only right to mark the moment with a proper celebration. 

Since opening in May 2020, our Long Eaton store has become more than just a shop - it’s part of the community. Last Friday showed that once again, with members queuing for up to two hours before opening to be part of the big reveal. The atmosphere was buzzing, filled with conversation, laughter, and a shared excitement for both the festivities and the bargains waiting inside. 

Once the ribbon was cut and the doors opened, the first members through received Company Shop vouchers. Some even got their whole shop for free in a game of Checkout Bingo, with winners announced every hour. 

Surplus Surprises were around every corner as colleagues raced through the store with trolleys piled high with freebies - members simply had to spot them and grab a prize. Families enjoyed free face painting, while friends and colleagues caught up over complimentary tea and coffee, making the day as much about community as it was about shopping.
