Spellbinding Sips and Halloween Cocktail Tricks

Let’s do the Monster Mash!

Halloween is the perfect time to experiment with cocktails and how we can adjust them to our festivities.
Mashing fruits and berries in some monster-themed drinks is a creative way to entertain your guests, try new things, and have fun doing so.

These cocktails have whiskey or brandy as their main spirit, but we’ve also got other blogs for drinks that have gin or vodka at their core if you’re looking for different recipes.

Witch’s Old Fashioned

Blackberries are a staple fruit for this time of year, and they’re probably on your garden hedgerows right now. What’s better than a blackberry crumble? A blackberry cocktail!

Grab your broomsticks and get out your cauldrons! This twist on the classic cocktail will split your guests- either they’ll love it, or avoid it like the plague...

  • Take your favourite whiskey and add it to a glass with ice.

  • Top it up with Sweet Vermouth and some autumnal bitters and give it a good stir.

But that’s nothing special, you scream!
To terrify your guests, add cherry syrup. This thick sugary substance can be stirred in to be incorporated fully, or left to sit at the bottom of the glass for a creepy potion a witch would kill for.

Monster Of Manhattan

The Manhattan is a classic- suave, sophisticated and favoured by the elite (well not really, but it makes a good story, doesn’t it). The Monster of Manhattan, however, is a different story...

  • In a glass, add your favourite whiskey, sweet vermouth and autumn bitters with ice.

What makes it a monster?
Well- for this drink, you’ll need a tab of activated charcoal. It has no smell or flavour, but the effect it’ll have on your drink will have you screaming.

  • Drop it into the glass, give it a stir, and watch as the darkness spreads...

Sinister Gin Sour

Travel back to the 1920s and experience a ride like no other...

Adding such a dark cordial will transform this popular drink into a spooky but delicious drink to dazzle your guests.

  • Mix cognac, orange liqueur, blackberry cordial and lemon juice.

  • For a darker colour and stronger flavour, simply add more cordial.

  • Add ice if you’d like, and top with some creepy garnishes- it's that easy!

Let's get spooky!

Please drink responsibly.
